Introduce yourself…
Hi my name is Alfie Scales originally from the town of Whitby, I play in goal and am about to start my first professional season at Morecambe FC.
What do you do to unwind and relax when you’re not playing or training?
For me the best thing I do to unwind and relax is literally resting, sleeping as much as possible just allowing my body and mind to recover after a long days training.
Can you describe your playing style and what makes you a unique goalkeeper?
As a goalkeeper I am good with the ball at my feet, very vocal and commanding which helps with through balls and crosses into the area as well as my handling being a big asset of mine.
As a vocal presence in the goal, how do you build trust and leadership with the defence during high-pressure games?
For me I’ve always been loud and I think actions speak just as loud so coming for that first cross in a high pressure games helps not only me settle into big games but gives the players around me trust and security that when I can I will take the pressure off of them as well as being honest, different players react to different feedback some require encouragement more than being criticised and vice versa.
