INTERVIEW
Introduce yourself…
Hi there my name is Kian Osborne I currently am a scholar at Milton Keynes Dons, been at The Dons for 5 years now and enjoyed every moment of it.
What first attracted you to join the academy at Milton Keynes Dons FC?
The first thing that attracted me to the club was there a expectation from the players and what the demand of you.
Can you tell us about the moment you knew MK Dons was the right place for your development?
The moment I knew MK Dons was the right place for my development was getting a set plan to work on over a period of time to make myself a better player and them putting the time into help me achieve the goal.
Who were the people at the club that helped you settle in the most during those early days?
The people at the club that help me settle in would be the players 100% they was really welcoming and I knew some of lads before going on trial with them the staff was really understanding and understood me straight away.
What do you remember most about your first training session with MK Dons?
I remember from my first training session with the boys was on trial and we played a 11v11 with the year above and I scored 3 and that set my stand to the lads and the coaches that I’m a threat in-front of goal.
How do you balance your schoolwork with the demands of training at MK Dons?
I balance school with football was when I had time to study I would prioritise my study’s because football isn’t a long career.
How did it feel when you first found out you were involved in the squad for an EFL Trophy match?
I can’t describe the feeling when I found out that I was involved with the first team in the EFL Trophy as soon as I found out I called my family group chat letting everyone at first my emotions was really high and you let it sink in and you have to keep grounded because you want more of these opportunities.
What differences did you notice between academy football and senior football?
The difference I would say is the intensity of the training sessions and the matches there is no time for errors and the other difference would be you have to stand you’re own because football is a harsh sport.
How close do you feel to breaking into the first team regularly?
When I’m back from injury I think my hard-work with give me of a boost to the coaches and the first team manager because being out till the end of the season I want to leave a statement to the manager when I return.
What are your goals for the next stage of your career with MK Dons?
My goals for my next stage would be with the first team more and earn a professional contract with MK Dons.
