Shamrock Rovers FC is a professional football club based in the south-Dublin suburb of Tallaght, Ireland. Known affectionately as “The Hoops” or simply “Rovers,” the club has deep roots in Irish football. While the club’s origins are a bit debated, it’s commonly celebrated as being founded around 1901 in the Ringsend area of Dublin. Over the years, Shamrock Rovers FC has become the most successful club in the Republic of Ireland, competing in the League of Ireland Premier Division, the top tier of Irish football.
