Introduce yourself…
Hi, I’m Arron I have been a professional footballer since I turned 16. I came through the academy at Heart of Midlothian then made the move up North to Cove Rangers.
What are your earliest memories of playing football at Longniddry Villa FC? Was there a moment when you realized this could become more than just a hobby?
I have loads of good memories from Longniddry Villa, the moment I realised that I could purse a football career was when Livingston showed interest in me and wanted me to come in to trial.
In 2017 you moved to the academy of Heart of Midlothian FC. How did the move to Hearts come about? What was the transition like moving from Longniddry Villa FC to a professional academy environment?
The move came about as there was a scout at one of my games who liked me and wanted me to trial. The transition was better than expected, all the boys were amazing and I fit in very quickly, it took some getting used to with the intensity and the higher standards though.
How did you manage school, training, and personal life during your years at the Hearts academy?
Managing school and football wasn’t easy, I have my parents and some of the other boys parents to say thank you to! They would make sure we made it to training from school every time and I couldn’t have done it without them.
I missed out on classes as I would leave school early so that meant I would have to spend my free time catching up with school work.
