Interview:
Introduce yourself…
Hi, I’m Daniel Jefferies. Semi professional footballer for Penybont FC.
As a defender, what specific qualities do you believe are essential for success in professional football?
As a defender, it’s crucial to be composed when under pressure, alongside being tactically aware such as your positioning. You must be vocal and very organised.
Daniel, what was it like representing Wales at various youth levels?
Everytime I put the Welsh shirt on, regardless of what level. It filled me with pride and passion. I have some great memories playing for wales and played with and against some amazing players.
What do you think are the key differences between club football and international youth football?
At club football, all players are moulded to play a certain way which the club want you to. When you go to international, there are multiple playing styles which you have to quickly adapt to. You need to find out players habits and patterns.
