Interview:
Introduce yourself…
I’m a hard working, grafting, old school type defender. Probably best known for my long throw. I’m an experienced player with leadership qualities.
Adam, you started your football career in the Barnsley FC academy. How did you end up in Barnsley’s youth academy? And who helped you the most?
I was at Leeds academy from the age of 7 to 15 and then moved to Barnsley after a successful trial. Daryl Pugh was the academy manager at both and Leeds and Barnsley and a family friend.
After Barnsley FC you moved to Goole AFC. Did you experience big differences between these clubs? And why?
I was released from Barnsley and came to a sticking point in my career. I didn’t know where to go next and how to get into men’s football. Luckily my local non league team Goole took me under there wing.
After playing football at Goole AFC for a few months, you made a transfer to Pickering Town FC. Why was your time at Goole AFC so short? Explain your answer.
Pickering were the league above goole and I wanted to make stepping stones up the leagues. So that’s why I moved to Pickering.
You played football for one year at Pickering Town FC. How did you experience your time at the Pikes?
I enjoyed my time at Pickering under Paul Marshall. He looked after me and taught me how the non league game worked. Paul left the club and his assistant Denny Ingram took over the club. Me and denny never got on and I left the club straight away.
Adam, you became a player of Alfreton Town FC in August 2020. How did you experience your debut here ?
My full debut was Southport away. A nice ground, with a good few fans there. I played right back and had a good game and we drew 1-1. It was a good debut.
Which game do you consider to be your best one at the Reds?
My best game had been Darlington away a few seasons ago. I scored and got an assist and we won.

Adam, you have played at several football clubs. At which club did you learn the most and from who?
By far I have learnt the most at Alfreton Town under Billy Heath. He has taught be everything about football in the conference. He’s an excellent manager with a proven track record of winning games and being successful.
What are your personal goals this season?
Personal goals is to have another good season for Alfreton and we want to win the league. We have been in the play offs the last 2 seasons. So why can’t we win the league.
