20 year old Welsh footballer playing for Cardiff Met. Typical guy, love sports, not particularly good at any others, alright footballer. Love going abroad, hoping to go travelling someday. Spend most my time off with my mates and family. Not many other hobbies but I do want to give surfing a go this summer.

Technical, playmaker and ticker.

Quite a few that stick out. I’d have to go for playing out in Macedonia. Had 3 days out there with the boys, incredible stadium and my first taste of European football.

It’s great. I’m very fortunate to have grown up in Pembrokeshire. When I played there I did feel that connection between the club and the community. Playing in front of my family, mates and other familiar faces really did make the experience extra special.

It was surreal. I wasn’t too sure how I was going to cope making the jump from junior to senior football, I was hoping just to make it into the development team! So I was very grateful for the faith that had been put in me at such a young age. I was just trying to take it all in my stride, and get stuck into the new challenges that faced me.

Taught me to always back yourself no matter who you face and to fight till the end.

Making the decision to go to Uni is obviously a big factor. Felt like it was time to start cracking on with life outside of footy, and moving away has helped me grow a lot as a person off the pitch. In terms of the club itself I’d have to say the ambition and direction they want to take the club in aligned with my personal ambitions for my career. I think Jenks is a top person as well and he’s got a really good understanding of the game. I’ve really enjoyed playing under him and all the other coaches at the club.

It’s ideal for me. I’ll always strive to play as high in football as I can, so it would have been a shame to have to park that for a couple of years had there not been an opportunity for me at this level. So I’m relieved to be able to do the both and progress on/off the pitch.

Academically I want to apply myself well to my course and see where that takes me. I’m starting to get a better idea of what I want to do post uni, but I’m also trying not to stress too much about it for the time being. In regard to football, I want to go as far as I can with it, and would snap at the opportunity to go professionally. I’ve still got a lot to work on and prove though, so short-term I’m just trying to apply myself to the sport to grow as a footballer. Although I think enjoying it will always be what’s most important to me, and that’s something I don’t want to lose sight of in my career.

Resilience is probably one of the most important aspects of it I’d say. It can be a fickle sport and the lows can be challenging times for all players. So I think being able to remain positive and hungry through rough spells is what gets you out of them. Get to know the people around you as well! One of the greatest parts of it is meeting the people you do, so always engage with those around you and enjoy the company.
