Introduce yourself…
Hi my name is Aaron, I am a first year scholar at Norwich City Football Club.
How would you describe yourself as a left midfielder?
I would say I’m a dribbler who likes taking his man on 1v1 using flair and speed.
Which professional players do you enjoy watching or try to learn from?
I enjoy watching Lamine Yamal and Michael Olise as they play similarly to me.
Can you tell us about your football journey at Cambridge United and how it shaped you as a player?
I joined Cambridge as an U12 from my grassroots team. It shaped me by developing me to use other ways to beat defenders rather than just running past them.
What are some of your favourite memories from your time in the Cambridge United academy?
One of my favourite memories from Cambridge was probably winning the europaths tournament in London.
How did the move to Norwich City come about? And was leaving Cambridge United an emotional decision?
The move to Norwich came in 2025 after I left Cambridge at U14 and previously trialed at West Ham before trialing at Norwich.
How did your family react when the opportunity to join Norwich came along?
My family was very happy as it was a new beginning for me to continue and enhance my football career.
What were your first impressions of the training ground and facilities? And how would you describe the atmosphere within the academy squad?
The Norwich training ground is really nice and provides us with the equipment to better ourselves everyday. As for my teammates, they were very welcoming when I joined, allowing me to nurture and grow alongside them.
How did it feel to sign your first professional contract with Norwich City in July, and what did that moment mean to you?
I signed a scholarship at Norwich, not a professional contract. This was a good moment for me and my family as it is an amazing achievement as it allows me to continue playing football at a high level.
What ambitions have you set yourself for this season?
My ambitions for the season are to get as many G/A as possible and to play with freedom and go far in the FA Youth Cup with my team.
