Alongside my football career, I study Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Birmingham, aiming to pursue a master’s in psychotherapy. I grew up in London and attended City of London School, epresenting the England Independent Schools National Team in matches against Premier League academies and in international fixtures, including against Chelsea and Scotland Schools.

I spent 13 years at London Lions FC. Highlights include scoring seven goals during our FA Youth Cup run that culminated in a First Round Proper away draw at MK Dons at their 30,000-seater stadium. Also of note, was winning three Hertfordshire FA County Cups. After rupturing my ACL in 2022 and completing surgery and rehabilitation, I returned to play for Wealdstone U19/U23 before joining Boston United U19/23s. I’ve since made two Boston first-team appearances, including my professional debut last month.

I like to be direct, get forward into dangerous areas, beat players 1 on 1 and get crosses into the box.

Fitness is non-negotiable- at this level you need to work hard both going forward and tracking back. Modern wide players must contribute to both phases of the game, defending like a full-back and attacking like a winger.

On the pitch, I train twice a week and have one match. On top of that, I do three gym sessions a week and often do mobility work/yoga as well. I also think the mental side of the game is crucial, so I do some editation a few times a week to stay focused and grounded.

My first impression was how professional and well-organised everything is. The football staff are excellent, and even the stadium staff like those on reception and in the kitchen help create a positive environment. I like how the stadium and training ground are on one site, making things feel connected and efficient.

I’m grateful to the coaching staff, particularly Jamie Raynor and Leon Kita for making me feel welcome and setting out goals for the season early on.

There wasn’t necessarily one single moment, but over time I’ve consistently felt that the club is committed to development and high standards. That reassures me that this is the right place to push myself and grow.

Ezra Aaron – Boston United FC

Balancing university with football can be demanding, particularly with the travel involved, and it’s important for me to manage my time well. The fact that I’m able to get some uni work done in the classrooms at the Jakemans Community Stadium before and/or after training is something I value highly.

We were away at Hull City U23s at the training ground. I think it’s great to be able to play against clubs of that sort of calibre as it makes you realise the level and opportunity ahead and where you could get to if you keep working.

I want to earn as many starts and minutes as possible and continue pushing to be involved with the first team in training and league fixtures. From a team perspective, I believe our goals should be to win the Lincolnshire County Cup with the first team and, at U23 level, to compete strongly against Championship sides, as we did last week when we beat Derby County U23.
